SUSTAINABILITY

At Kwinana Marketplace we want to ensure the shopping centre and the community that we operate in, are resilient and able to thrive. We are aiming towards a net zero carbon emission target by 2030, which includes reducing water usage and increasing the amount of waste diverted from landfill.

SOLAR PROJECT UPDATE

In February 2022 works commenced on the installation of  solar panels on the roof of Kwinana Marketplace.

These panels will generate renewable energy that will be used on site, reducing harmful carbon emissions in the atmosphere generated by site operations.

Installation works have now been completed and we are looking forward to making the switch to solar power soon.

Solar Panels

From 21st February 2022 we will be installing solar panels on the roof of the shopping centre.

These panels will generate renewable energy that will be used on site, reducing harmful carbon emissions in the atmosphere generated by site operations.

Car Charging Bays

In 2022 we will be installing charging bays for battery powered cars.

Our charging stations will eventually run on the renewable energy generated by our solar panels.

Net Zero Carbon Emission

We are aiming to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2030 through a concentrated sustainability effort at the shopping centre.

LED Lighting

Continue updating the centre to reach 100% energy efficient LED lighting by 2023.

Environmentally Friendly Material Use

Support retailers to ban or phase out single-use plastics by 2025

Recycling Hub

The City of Kwinana have a recycling hub is installed at Kwinana Marketplace next to the foodcourt, behind Wendys  to enable residents to recycle items that are unable to be placed in their household bins.

The bins will take household batteries, printer cartridges, mobile phones and chargers and household light bulbs - how cool is that!
