Thank you for your participation in National Carers Week
Thank you to our community members who participated in our National Carers Week at Kwinana Marketplace. We’re filled with gratitude and pride for the carers in our community and for everyone who participated in our events. Across our centre, we came together to celebrate, recognise, and support the incredible Australians who dedicate themselves to providing unpaid care to family members and friends in need. Here’s a look back at the inspiring initiatives from this campaign.
On Thursday 17th October, shoppers were greeted by a volunteer carer who provided assistance with trolleys, bags, and directions, making the shopping experience just a little easier. Carers in the community were gifted a coffee card as a small token of thanks.
This day of support was made possible by Carelink Support Services, a dedicated NDIS provider working to make a difference in the lives of NDIS participants through personalised plans and compassionate care. With their help, our volunteer team was able to extend a helping hand to carers visiting our centre, creating an environment that embodies the caring spirit we celebrate.
Kwinana Marketplace was on the hunt for a Champion Carer in our community—someone who goes above and beyond in their caregiving role. After receiving inspiring nominations, we’re thrilled to announce that Michelle Margetts has been chosen as our Champion Carer! This award comes with a $500 gift card, a small gesture to show our appreciation for their selfless dedication and support.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to nominate and vote for a carer and celebrate the invaluable contributions they make in the lives of others.

It’s a powerful reminder of the importance of acknowledging these unsung heroes who provide physical, emotional, and mental support to those who need it most.
Our campaign may have wrapped up, but our appreciation for carers continues all year round. We’re grateful to all who took part in celebrating National Carers Week and helped us make a meaningful impact in the lives of those who give so much of themselves to care for others.
To Michelle, and all carers—thank you for everything you do.
